Captain's Dream Log 007 - Riddle Me This

I was a sat in a large lecture hall. There were a lot of people there. We were sat in front of a huge screen. A large image of some kind of puzzle was being projected onto said screen. The image contained a series of dots aranged into clusters.

In order to solve the puzzle, we needed to pick out a certain letter from a particular language.

This was all supposed to represent something important which was obvious to everyone except me. They all raised their hands to give their solution to the puzzle. Amongst lots of murmuring, I heard someone say "air pollution". The answer was air pollution. I rasied my hand.

The Lecturer asked me, "What are you reading?"

I responded, "Nothing. I'm looking at a screen of dots"
